With the text feature, you can add anti-aliased text to any image. You can control the placement, size, color, font and style of any text. |

Adding Text To add text to your image, open the file in the Image Viewer. Select Place Text from the Image menu, or hit 'T'.
When you enter text mode, the text adjustment window will open. You may type your text in this window, as well as change the color, font and style of the text. For information on adjusting text, see the Adjusting Text section below. | --> |

<#endif> When you've got the text you want click 'Ok' to return to the image. You may also click 'Ok' without entering text, which will allow you to enter your text directly on the image.
The rectangle will outline the current text area. The rectangle will resize to fit the text you have typed.
The floating text toolbar will allow you to return to the adjustment window at any time by clicking 'Options'. You may also apply your text by clicking 'Done' or cancel the text by clicking 'Cancel'.

Changing Text Size

To resize your text, click on the knobs (small black squares) on the rectangle surrounding the text.
When you place your cursor over one of these knobs, your cursor will change to a double ended arrow. Now
click and drag the knob to resize the text.
You can change the text, including font and color, and style using the text adjustment window. The text adjustment window
appears when you enter text mode. To adjust the text after returning to the image, click the
'Options' button on the text toolbar. The Text Window will appear, where
you can change the attributes of your text.
In the Text Window, you'll see a preview of your text along the top. This preview will update in real time to show you the effects of your changes. |
Changing Color: To change the color of your text, use the color picker marked
'Text Color.' If you have trouble seeing your text in the preview, you can change the preview's background color to better
match the color of your image. Change the background color using the color picker marked 'Background Color.'
Note: the background color is for the preview only and will have no effect on the text in your image!.

Using Textures: To use a texture for your text, simply use the 'Browse' button under the color
picker to select the texture you would like to use. You can use any graphics file which |

Changing Fonts: You can change the font of your text using the drop-down list. This list will show
all fonts on your system. Simply select the font from the list.

Bold, Underline, Italics: To select these text styles, check the boxes next to the style you wish to add.
Alignment: You can align your text to the left, center or right using the similarly marked checkboxes. This will only have an effect when your text is on more than one line.

Advanced Text Effects
The Advanced Text effects can be accessed when you are using the main text window. A list of effect categories appears on the right side of the window, just above the 'Ok' button. To change your effects, click the link for the effects category you would like to change. The options area of the window will change to show the selected category.
Using Textures
Advanced Text allows you to use textures anywhere you can use a color. In each of the
options categories, there will be a 'Browse' button just below the color picker. To use a
texture instead of a color, use the 'Browse' button to select a texture.
A texture can be any graphic that
Text Opacity
Using Advanced Text, you can set the opacity of the text itself. This option appears
under the 'Effects' category, and is labeled 'Text Opacity.' To change the opacity
of your text, adjust the slider until the desired opacity is achieved.
Drop Shadows
You can add drop shadows to your text using any color (or texture), thickness,
offset, and opacity.
Drop shadows are added or adjusted from the 'Effects' options category.
To add a drop shadow, begin by selecting a color or texture for the shadow. Specify the thickness, opacity, and placement using the sliders in the 'Effects' window. You can also change the placement by clicking and dragging the shadow in the preview window.
To remove a shadow, set it's opacity to zero.
Outlines
Advanced Text allows you to add up to three outlines around your text. Outlines can
be of any color or texture, any thickness, and any opacity.
Each outline is adjusted separately by selecting it's option category from the list on the right side of the window.
To remove an outline, set the thickness to zero.
