Introduction to the Equinox Desktop Environment

Equinox Desktop Environment is small nad powerfull environment for X. It is built on eFLTK (extended FLTK), heavily
modified FLTK 2.0 library. Comparing to other desktop environments, Equinox is very fast (even on slow machines),
and have low memory footprint. It provide things that every window manager, especially desktop environment should
have, like multiple desktops, nice workpanel, wallpapers, theming support, icons, front end for your usualy tasks. Also
there is Xft (font anti-aliasing) support, and various GUI effects.
We still try to do EDE better and better.

Equinox Desktop Environment is still in heavy development. Currently, there is only one active developer and maintainer
so if you would like to contribute with fresh ideas, themes, icon packs, documentation, food, coffee, cigars :), use provided
forum link or email.
Installation and
bugs
Please refer to INSTALL and
README.INSTALL files in your EDE source code directory. If you have
problems with installation procedure, please look at config.log file,
where errors are logged. If you still find trouble with it, send your
questions on http://sourceforge.net/projects/ede
forum or at karijes@users.sourceforge.net.
Note that this is very
unstabile version, so with your help, comments and suggestions,
we will bring it to good and stabile level.
