Selling Photos

Selling Photos feature adds a Paypal Website Payments Standard shopping cart. You need to have Premier or Business Paypal account to be able to receive website payments. As far as I know you can receive a limited number of website payments with Personal account too, but it's not really appropriate for advanced use.

Paypal Shopping feature

Position

  • Omit — No shopping feature will be added.
  • Top — Shopping panel is placed above the main picture
  • Bottom — or below it

Type

  • Inline — The Shopping options will be placed one after another in one line, and will represented as radio buttons. The visitor first have to choose one shopping option, and only after that can add the item to the shopping cart. This method is compact and suitable for less shopping options.
  • Multi line — Each Shopping option is placed in a separate line with a dedicated "Add to Cart" button. Better for more shopping options or long labels.
  • Custom — For advanced users. You can have as many shopping options as you define in the configuration file. Make sure to define as much price and shipping fields as shopping options. You can also define a second options box. The big difference, that this option use the values from the external file (you edit) rather from the User Interface which has limited shopping options. The file can be found here: from Jalbum, Tools / Open directories / Skin directory change to includes folder and open the paypal_c.inc file with Notepad. Hint, Paypal email address and Currency will be taken over from the user interface if they are empty in the file.

Hint

This text will be displayed as a title for the shopping options. E.g. "Order this item via Paypal".

Currency

The 3-letter code of the currency in which you want to collect money. See your Paypal configuration! You must have that currency opened at Paypal Profile. Don't use $, £ or € here, only the 3-letter code: USD, GBP, EUR, etc.

Shopping Options

The different shopping options. You can add 1 to 6 different options.

Label The name of the shopping option, like 10x15" print. The name of the given file will also appear automatically on the Paypal invoice.

Price The price given in the specified currency. You don't need to add the currency sign or abbreviation, for this will automatically attached.

Shipping The item-specific shipping cost given in the specified currency. It is added per item, but only once if you order more than one of the same item. If you leave it empty the shipping settings in your Paypal profile will be applied. (By default no shipping fee is added.) If you set it '0.00' no shipping will be added even if it was set differently in the Paypal profile. This fee is useful for items require special postage handling, like large objects.

ID The short form which identifies this item, like 10x15P. Used by Paypal. You can leave this field empty.

Handling

The Handling fee is added once per item, regardless of which item, the same flat rate will be used.

Flat handling cartwiseChecking this option the handling fee will be added only once per shopping cart regardless of how many items are placed in it. A typical setup for selling photos.

Use quantity

You can also add a quantity box. If you leave it unchecked, "Add to cart" button will always add 1 of the current item, but later in the Paypal shopping cart the buyers can change it.

Use Select box

Select box is another possibility to refine the selling options. For example you can use it to let users select the color model of the current photo: "Color", "B&W", "Sepia" or let them choose the size: "S", "M", "L", "XL", "XXL". Add the label in the empty box, and press the add add button. You can check the box right from the plus button. If you want to remove on option just select it and press the remove button remove. Reloading a previously saved project might not fill up the box, even though the values are added to the pages corretly. Just press the '+' sign in this case.
