database info
this area is where you select the title for your database to be imported. If you wish to overwrite an existing
database, then check "select existing" and choose the database from the drop down box.
html table information
html url
this is the URL you wish to use as your datasource. two examples are
provided below
- http://www.what-is-the-capital-of.com/50-state-capitals.html
- http://www.cs.ucsd.edu/users/bsy/area.html
These are both valid URLs as of 03/26/2003, and both have been verified to work with
the importer. Be sure to check off the "has header row" checkbox.
table index
all html documents are not created alike. one html document may have
3 tables, another might just be 1. The "table index" allows
you to specify which table you want to load. *note - remember, some
tables are invisible, so you may have to look at the source to determine
the correct index.
has header row
check this off if the html table's first row are the field names. for example,
in this instance, "Name" and "City" are my header row, and they are my
field names as well, so I'd check off the "has header row" check box.
