Moonshine Readme



Binary Installation

If you have downloaded the binary only version of moonshine then run the installation script install.bash to install the default modules and the moonshine binary. The binary will install into /usr/bin by default and the modules to /usr/share/moonshine.

Source Installation

If you have downloaded the source version of moonshine then follow the instructions in the INSTALL file to compile and install moonshine. The source code for Moonshine can be downloaded from ftp.suite3220.com.

Licence

Moonshine is licenced under the QPL. See the file LICENCE for more details.

Change log

A change log for modification to Moonshine by version is located in the docs subdirectory with the filename changeLog.txt.

Command Line

  Run 'moonshine --help' for command line options to Moonshine.

Environment

The environment variable MODULEPATH may be specified to alter the system module path (/usr/share/moonshine/modules).  NOTE:  Modules in $HOME/.moonshine/modules will always be loaded before modules in the system modules directory.

A how-to for building Moonshine modules is located in the docs sub-directory with the filename module.html.

Moonshine Developer Exchange

The Developer Exchange, located at www.suite3220.com, allows Moonshine users to post or download modules, provides documentation on how to use and customize modules, and helps to coordinate the development and documentation of Moonshine.
